Pile Height (mm):
The standard size of a rugby pitch is 120×53 yards (equivalent to 110x49m). The pitch is crossed by lines numbered in ascending order from 50 to 10, showing the attacking team the distance to the goal line in yards. These portions of the lawn can be made of white artificial turf or painted with a special colour adapted to the green surface. At both ends of the field there is a 10-meter-wide touchdown zone (also called “end zone”). At both goal lines there are Y-shaped goals, called “goal posts”.
